Northland Youth Saxophone Ensemble
An all-saxophone ensemble in the Northland
Our newest group, the Northland Symphony Youth Saxophone Ensemble brings the world of classical music to our student saxophone musicians in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This is an unique and rare opportunity for these students to experience this music in an all saxophone ensemble.
Open to grades 9-12.
Support the NYSE as we commission a piece for MMEA
The Northland Symphony Youth Saxophone Ensemble was selected to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association conference in January 2025. We are commissioning Shelley Washington, who grew up in the KC Northland and is composing professionally in New York City, to write a piece for our ensemble to perform the world premier at the conference.
Families or organizations that donate at least $150 will receive their name(s) printed on the front of the musical score as consortium members.
Reach out to Joel Gordon at [email protected] with any questions! Checks can be sent to P.O. Box 11084, Kansas City, MO 64119 and made out to “Northland Youth Symphony” with the memo NYSE Commission.
