Northland Symphony Youth Orchestra
The Northland Symphony Youth Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble for students up to twelfth grade.
Members play advanced repertoire in a full orchestra setting. Our ensemble provides opportunities to perform with peers from throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. Our students are more prepared for their post-high school ensemble experiences.
It’s about making great music while having fun.

Audition registration for the 2024-25 season is now open! Please click the Auditions tab below for more information.
You can register now for NYO auditions at this link. Auditions will take place through video submission or in person. There is no fee to audition. If an in-person audition is preferred, we will hold those on Sunday, May 12th at William Jewell College. You will be able to indicate your preference on the registration form.
Deadline to register: May 7, 2024.
Deadline to submit recording online: May 10, 2024.
Date of in-person auditions: May 12, 2024.
You must be enrolled in your school’s orchestra or band if offered. You must not reach your 19th birthday before September 1 in the year the season begins.
Rehearsals are from 3:00-4:30pm on Sundays at William Jewell College, generally August through April.
We present three concerts each season between August and May.
Tuition for the NYO is $300 per season.
If a household has more than one student participating, the members will receive a 20% discount.
Scholarship assistance is available for those who qualify. Additional information will be available at the time of auditions.
